India’s closest ally is now the biggest headache for the country. In the last decade and a half under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, India has not had to think so much about protecting its security and strategic interests in South Asia. But after his fall, India has to re-strategize. The top commanders of the Indian Navy will hold a four-day meeting in Delhi from September 17 to review the security situation amid growing instability in South Asia.
According to Indian defence ministry sources, the meeting will also discuss regime changes in Bangladesh and its impact, as well as China’s growing military activities and Pakistan’s military assistance. According to Indian media ANI, the conference at the new naval headquarters will focus on the overall security situation in Asia.
In April this year, Admiral Dinesh K. This is Tripathi’s first major summit after taking over as the Indian Navy chief. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, at the Joint Commanders’ Conference in Lucknow, had asked the defence forces to be prepared for any unforeseen eventuality. The announcement of the meeting came days after his speech.
The Indian Navy has recently conducted several successful operations against pirate and drone attacks. According to Indian media reports, the meeting will also review the naval activities in the Arabian Sea and other strategic measures. Normally, the Indian forces hold commando conferences twice a year and review the progress of their operations.
