India’s Defence Minister Instructs Armed Forces to Be Ready for War

India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has urged the armed forces to remain prepared for war. He made this statement while addressing the Joint Commanders’ Conference of the Indian Armed Forces in Lucknow.

Rajnath Singh said the army should keep an eye on the recent developments in Bangladesh and China. He said India is a peaceful country but forces should always be war ready to maintain peace.

The defence minister said the global situation is changing fast and can throw up surprises. So Indian forces should always be prepared for all kinds of situations.

“We have been a peaceful country in the past and will be in future but we have to keep an eye on what’s happening around us,” he said. Given the global situation I have told my military commanders that for the sake of peace in India we should always be war ready because peace should not be allowed to be disrupted at all.
